Following the Strike action from Customs and immigration on Monday 14th of January, the States and Ports of Jersey have turned the strike action into a positive declaring Jerseys first “International open day”
Anyone will be allowed to enter Jersey, as there will be no customs checks, and thus leaving anyone from Europe and the U.K to freely explore the island without being checked.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Jersey, an open island is a happy island’ said a States of Jersey spokesman, ‘it will open up our international community for the better’.
Should the day be successful it could become a quarterly event.
