Jersey Customs ‘disappointed’ with drug sale revenues.

Jersey Customs have said they are ‘extremely disappointed’ with the fall in revenue from the re-sale of seized drugs. This year saw a record amount for drug seizures, over £2 million worth, but re-sales have only bought in approximately £300,000.00.

Customs said “it’s a supply and demand issue, we were competing with local traders but despite our official status as an ‘authorised dealer’ we just couldn’t shift anything.

Jersey Economic development have said “This is a big loss, but we can safely say taxpayers will not have to fork out for this loss”
