Islanders 'in favour' of surrounding wall

Jersey people have voted to build a wall around the Island in an attempt to ensure the islands heritage is free from outside contaminants from other countries,

Of the locals who voted in favour of the wall, 49% originated from Scotland, 31% from Liverpool, 5% from Devon, 3% from Guernsey and 2% Jersey'

The wall will begin construction in the new year and Jersey’s minority communities will, in some way, be expected to pay for it.

A small opening will be in the South wall to allow port access and the west wall will be lowered for airport safety
