Members of the states have voted against prioritising diversity in the island.
The chief minister department has said:
‘Diversity is not something we want in this island, we must keep our heritage, we are an island of white, modestly wealthy middle-class men and women and we think it should stay that way. Our opposition has not properly considered the impact of diversity, it will increase rights for minorities such as trans gender and disabled people, and this in turn, drives out the freedom of the white majority, it’s a very dangerous game, we’re not playing.
Diversity campaigners are planning a protest but the states say, ‘we won’t listen, it’s just total B*llocks'
